We're extremely excited today to reveal the two new presenting sponsors who will be pivotal in N1 Racing's program for the remainder of the 2010 season and through 2011:

Brian Crower - Brian will be supplying us with his exceptional engine components as we work together to develop a high horsepower naturally aspirated engine (look for the BC 2.47L Stroker Kit, Valves, Full Race Camshafts, Valvesprings, Retainers, and more). This engine will be powering our S2000 as we strive to break the current 1:49:xx NA lap record set at Buttonwillow C13.

Kraftwerks USA
- Much to our pleasant surprise, Oscar Jackson Sr. and Oscar Jackson Jr. told us that they've been "waiting for the right team with the right program to come along". Therefore we feel incredibly honored to be partnering with them as they supply us with their awesome supercharger systems. Together we will work to push our S2000 beyond class wins and towards overall wins and outright lap records.

We'll be posting more information soon. Also look for us to begin documenting our engine build process next month!

N1 RACING CONTINUES TO LEAD THE 2010 REDLINE TIME ATTACK CHAMPIONSHIP STANDINGS WITH A 3RD PLACE FINISH
IN THE SUPER MODIFIED RWD CLASS AT AUTO CLUB SPEEDWAY

SUPER MODIFIED REAR WHEEL DRIVE CLASS 3RD PLACE WITH 01:47.894

June 1, 2010 - The N1 Racing team continues to lead the 2010 Redline Time Attack Championship Series with a 3rd place finish at Round 4 of Redline Time Attack held at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA this past weekend. Although the team is currently enjoying a commanding lead, this weekend has taught them that there is never room to relax when strong competitors are nipping at the heels. This was the third race in the West Coast Series, which means that N1 Racing now has 86 points (equivalent to that of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place added together).

The N1 team went to Fontana prepared to challenge competitors with more than twice the S2000’s horsepower output at a track with a very long high-speed straight. This proved to be tremendously difficult for N1 as the team faced off against Dave Martis in the K&N Engineering Infiniti G35 Coupe, Ernesto Roco in his Ford Mustang Cobra, and local favorite Fontana Nissan and it’s 350Z piloted by Mike Cronin Jr.

Saturday morning practice ended early for the N1 S2000 as harsh wind conditions led to a broken front splitter in the high-speed straight section. However the team persevered and quickly began fabricating a new splitter from plywood purchased at Home Depot in Rancho Cucamonga. Chief Mechanic Johnny Ngo along with Crew Mechanics Jimmy Chilcott and Andrew Eng were able to securely mount the newly made splitter just in time for the S2000 to go back out for the last practice session of the day. Driver Andrie Hartanto was able to record a lap time of 1:49.524 (-0.741 improvement from earlier that morning).

Sunday began with the only Super Modified Qualifying Session for the day at 10:00AM with Hartanto recording lap times in the low 1:48 range. The Super Modified Time Attack Session #1 “Record Assault” began just two hours after at exactly 12:00PM. It was during this session that Hartanto recorded the 1:47.894 that would put the N1 S2000 in 3rd Place behind Roco (1:44.015 recorded in Session #2) and Cronin (1:43.202 recorded in Session #2).

Unfortunately, it was near the end of Session #1 when Hartanto, trying hard to improve his times, made a mistake and clipped a drum barrier at the apex of the 3rd to last turn. Fortunately Hartanto was able to pilot the car safely back to the hot pit, where it was then pushed back to the N1 garage located in the paddock. The team mechanics later discovered that the front left tie rod had broken the moment Hartanto stopped in the pit lane. The team will be conducting a thorough inspection this week back in Hayward, however at this time it appears that the damages are primarily cosmetic.

The N1 Racing Team is looking forward to putting the S2000 back together along with plenty of engine upgrades to further improve the car in preparation for Round 6 of Redline Time Attack at Willow Springs Raceway (yet another track that favors high horsepower cars) next month during the 4th of July weekend.
